Sunday, April 19, 2009

New York, April 5, 2009 – MMHighlights (MMH), a collective of artistic and innovative marketing professionals who uses creative integrated marketing tactics to promote ides and disseminate information, in collaboration with CCNY’s Blackout Squad , a hip dance squad which personifies freedom of expression through modern fine arts, and Reynoir LLC, a trendy new clothing line with an urban twist to vintage fashion will be celebrating a new year of style with MMH’s fierce beefit Runway Show ‐ À La Mode on Wednesday, April 29th, 2009 in The Great Hall of the City College of New York.

MMH: A La Mode will raise support and awareness for the respective causes of the Harlem 40 Youth Program and the New York Affiliateof Dress for Success. The show will feature independent street wear designers, who embody the same fashion “chops” as mainstream fashion houses, an eclectic mix of aspiring male and female models, and young performers who will entertain the audience with their mind‐blowing vocals and choreography.

The Harlem 40 Mentoring Program provides middle and high school students with the support and opportunities they need to succee in high‐school and prepare for college. These youth have faced struggles with academic, behavioral, and/or emotional difficulties and their participation in the program sets them on a new course for positive youth development, enabling them to maximize their personal potential. The program also strives to re‐engineer Harlem, spreading the message that "everyone can go to college".

Dress for Success aims to promote economic independence amongst disadvantaged women trying to enter the workforce, by providing then with professional attire, as well as career development tools to help them succeed. These women are also given a support network that help in boosting their confidence, while securing employment for them.
